Litani Serba Salah Seorang Pastor

- Kalau pastornya muda, dibilang masih blo’on
Kalau pastornya tua, sebaiknya pensiun saja.

- Kalau khotbah terlalu panjang, dibilang menjengkelkan
Kalau khotbahnya cepat, "Kok, kayak kereta ekspres".

- Kalau mulai misa tepat waktu, katanya kaku
  Kalau terlambat, "Idiih, pastornya malas

- Kalau dikamar pengakuan menasehati, katanya banyak omong
  Kalau sebaliknya, dibilang kurang tanggap.

- Kalau mengikuti pendapat umat, dibilang tidak punya pendirian
Kalau mengikuti pendapat sendiri, dicap diktator.

- Kalau keuangan paroki mepet, katanya pastor tak pintar usaha
Kalau ngomongin soal uang, dibilang mata duitan.

- Kalau mengadakan misa lingkungan, katanya tak pernah kunjungan keluarga
Kalau mengunjungi keluarga, "Kapan sich pastornya misa lingkungan?".

- Kalau pastor tak ada di pastoran, dicap tukang ngeluyur
Tapi kalau selalu ada, dibilang pastor kurang pergaulan.

- Kalau memperhatikan anak-anak, dibilang "Masa kecil kurang bahagia".
Kalau memperhatikan Mudika, giliran orang tua ngegosip.

- Kalau nonton TV, dibilang enak-enakan
Kalau tidak, dibilang engga mengikuti zaman.

TAPI, KALAU PASTORNYA MENINGGAL, SIAPA YANG MAU GANTI?

Job Fair!!!

Wednesday, September 5th, 2007

Halo,

I just realized that Purdue are going to have Industrial Roundtable or Job Fair next week, 9/11-12. I thought it’s still another 2 weeks. I haven’t updated my resume and at least I should try to get the booklet. It’s my Junior year, so I guess I need to take this job fair seriously, not like last year which I came just for practicing my communication skills.

Well, does anyone has tips or tricks on "how to sell yourself in 1-2 minutes" or maybe places that I can go to find internship, especially for International Student like me.

Hiks, hope that everything will turn out ok

Gita Gutawa (feat. Delon) - Your Love

Every time i close my eyes
And say my prayer at night
I thank God each day for your love
That gives me wings to fly up high
To reach my dream aim for the sky
You always said

Your head up high
Smile on your face and wish
That you will always be loved
The stars will lead you every step you take
Don’t you ever be afraid
Believe in you
And I’ll be there to guide you wherever you may go
Thank you for your love, forever

When I am down and the things go wrong
The world against me too
I close my eyes and think of you
And knew what you would say now

Your head up high
Smile on your face and wish
That you will always be loved
The stars will lead you every step you take
Don’t you ever be afraid
Believe in you
And I’ll be there to guide you wherever you may go away
Giving me my wings to fly high

What a Fun GlobalFest

Saturday, September 1st, 2007

Hi,

I just came back from Global Fest. It was an event where basically you have lots of stands from all over the world. I guess I saw Ukraine, Egypt, China, Japan, Korea, Russia, South America (not sure which Country), Turkey. They also have lots of international food (korea, mexico, africa, chinese, turkey, etc). It was a cool event, that it’s worth your time to come and look around. I even got my name written in Japanese. I will send the picture later hahaha, sorry I left it in my car.

Well of course, we, Indonesian Student Organization, also made 2 tables, one for info booth and one for sales booth. Not bad for the sales booth, at least we got $400. We sold traditional sandals, batik, tank-top Bali, selendang, bag. So happy that we can get $400. I spent a lot of my time in the info booth, where basically we promote Indonesia to the visitors.

We setup a nice table with DVD showing Indo culture, maps, mini-games, wayang, dolls in traditional customs, scary mask (which really scared a lot of people, including a girl who scared to enter our room because of the mask hahaha), batik, traditional custom, and of course our national flag.

I was there from 9 ’til 4.30, then I went to church and go back afterwards to help packing stuff. I was soooo tired, but it was also FUN. What do I mean by FUN is I’m really proud promoting Indo to visitors (American, Korean, Japanese, Chinese, European, Argentinean). It never came up in our mind how bad is our country, but what we said was how good is our country. Example: Can you imagine that we had about 18.000 islands, 300+ ethnics, languages, traditional songs, houses, clothes.

I was so happy to see people reaction, especially when they ask questions about Indonesia. That means they are interested with Indo. It really opens their eyes about Indonesia, because most of them know nothing about Indonesia, until today. I’m just so happy to see their faces and reactions, just can’t explained it in words.

I’m so proud that I’m from Indonesia. For those of you who might not like Indo even though you’re Indo citizen (I know some of them), I’m pretty sure you haven’t learn about Indonesian cultures. Sorry guys, but I’m one of the supporter of "how come you love your country if you don’t learn the cultures". I know that you don’t need to love your cultures to love your country, but if you hate your country, I’m pretty sure you haven’t learn about your cultures. I’m so proud that Indonesia is one of the richest or diverse cultures country in the world. Which country have more than 300+ ethnics, languages, songs, houses, clothes, food.

Ok it’s getting long right now, so I’m just gonna end my post. I just want to say, I’m really happy and proud to represent my country today and talk to visitors about how good our country is, even tough I don’t get even a penny, but personal proud and satisfaction are more than enough , and I won’t reject the offer if I have to do same thing again next year.

God Bless Indonesia
